Decorating help??

I just repainted my room a really pretty brown color its really dark but i love it. The only problem is that its to dark and i dont know what to put on my walls to brighten it up(or any way ingeneral). I want to accent with pastels. Im not very creative and i would really appreciate any suggestions! Thanks!!
