Is it okay to have a combined reception and housewarming?

My husband and I were married about two weeks ago and bought a house about one week ago. We didn't have a wedding or reception. It was very quick and relatively quiet. Just immediate family and very close friends at the courthouse. We wanted to have a reception/housewarming in June and invite all of our family and friends over for a barbeque. Is this acceptable? If so, how do I word the invitations? I bought plain off-white paper. The cardboard type paper like you would normally see behind the vellum on a formal invitation. I want to print invitations off my computer onto these but don't know how to word it. Any suggestions? Is this a major faux pas?
