American under 21s in clubs?

I live in NYC and I know clubs will check IDs. If you go to small pubs and bars, especially those around college campuses, they don't check IDs at all. Go to the ones around Union Square, West Village, East Village, and specifically 3rd Avenue between 21st and 34th Streets.
